MNIK NWE POSTER 1

NOOR E KHUDA:

Music: Shankar Ehsaan Loy
Lyrics Niranjan Iyengar
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Adnan Sami, Shreya Ghoshal

NOTE: Noor-e-Khuda means light of God which actually means God itself.

Noor E Khuda….

Ajnabi mod hai,
What strange times are these
Khauf har aur hai,
There’s fear everywhere
Har nazar pe dhuan chha gaya
Everything appears foggy
Pal bhar mein jaane kya kho gaya
In an instant something is lost

Aasman zard hai
The sky is pale
Aahein bhi sard hai,
Breath is frigid
Tan se saaya juda ho gaya
Shadows are separated from bodies
Pal bhar mein jaane kya kho gaya
In an instant something is lost

Saans ruk si gayi
Breath flows haltingly
Jism chhil sa gaya
Body feels like it’s been skinned
Toote khwabon ke manzar pe
On broken dreams
Tera jahan chal diya
Your world survives

Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
tu kahan chhupa hai humein yeh bata
Tell us where you’re hiding
Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
yun naa humse nazarein phira.
Please don’t turn away from us
Noor E Khuda ..

Nazar-e-karam farma hi de
Shower your grace on us
Deen-o-dharam ko jaga hi de
Awaken mercy and goodness
Jalti hui tanhaiyaan
Burning loneliness…..
Roothi hui parchhaiyaan
Angry shadows…..
Kaisi udi yeh hawa
What sort of wind is this blowing
Chhaya yeh kaisa sama
What kind of atmosphere is this
Ruh jam si gai
The soul is frozen
Waqt tham sa gaya
Time stands still

Toote khwabon ke manzar pe
On broken dreams
Tera jahan chal diya
Your world survives

Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
tu kahan chhupa hai humein yeh bata
Tell us where you’re hiding
Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
yun naa humse nazarein phira.
Please don’t turn away from us
Noor E Khuda ..
Noor E Khuda ..

Ujde se lamhon ko aas teri,
Desolate moments hope for you
Zakhmi dilon ko hai pyaas teri
Wounded hearts thirst for you
Har dhadkan ko talaash teri,
Every heartbeat searches for you
Tera milta nahi hai pata,
But no one can find you

Khaali aankhein khud se sawaal karein,
Empty eyes ask each other
Aman ki cheekh behaal karein,
Peace screams in agony and pain
Behta lahoo fariyaad karein,
Rivers of blood plead with you
Tera mit ta chala hai nishaan,
Every trace of you is being wiped out

Ruh jam si gai
The soul is frozen
Waqt tham sa gaya
Time stands still

Toote khwabon ke manzar pe
On broken dreams
Tera jahan chal diya
Your world survives

Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
tu kahan chhupa hai humein yeh bata
Tell us where you’re hiding

Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
yun naa humse nazarein phira.
Please don’t turn away from us

Noor E Khuda ..
Noor E Khuda ..
Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
aaj kal tu kahan hai yeh bataa
where are you?

Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
aaj kal tu kahan hai yeh bataa
where are you?
Noor E Khuda Noor E Khuda
Light of God
Kya yeh sach hai ki tu hum se Khafa
Are you really upset with us?

The ultimate and eternal words of the song and really the one of the best song ever made by the bollywood.

But But But All Muslim Community must understand this song by heart and must leave the past of violence at its best.

If you really want noor e khuda then you must be nonviolent on any issue……
    Hope for the best….

      Sorry man,
But I prefer you to say that everyone must understand this song and not only the muslim community. Muslims are not the only one doing violence in this world.

      Thank you for your understanding

    thanks a lot.
Im a muslim and all that I can tell you :the noor e khuda is in the heart of eatchone of us .but ther’s who feel it and who doesnt .as a muslim i can just beg you to not think that islam means terrorisme.god says in the holly coran that he creats many nation so as to coexist and he is the only one who has the right to judge.so whatever is your nationnality or religion you are my brother or sister.really MNIk has mad a big and positif step for coexistance between religions and try to change this wrong image of muslim in the world

I was driving alone from Chicago late Easter night 540 miles to a family funeral and listening to the radio trying to stay awake. The roads were empty, it was raining, it had been a long day, I was very sad and tired and the trip seemed endless. Suddenly this incredible song which I had never heard before came on the radio (in the middle of Ohio of all places).

Since then I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. Fortunately the DJ mentioned the name of the movie so I was able to find the song, and just today I’ve found this translation. I knew it was a beautiful song from the melody and voices but I thought it was just a romantic love song. didn’t know that it had deep meaning as well as beauty until I found these lyrics. Thank you so much for posting.

Thank to Rakesh for putting up the translation. I liked the song, but after reading your translation, I really admire this song more. It touched my heart and brought me tears. Once again thanks to Niranjan Iyengar. Your lyrics in this song is just great. For Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy and the singers I cannot find words to praise you..

Thank you Rakesh, from the bottom of my heart. This song has become more appealing to my soul after I went thru’ the translation. Now, it does not seem like a song to me anymore, it seems like a cry of the yearning soul to find God amidst the chaotic enigma of the modern days. Bless you from the heart of hearts and pray that you provide such nice translations forever.

I remember once Saif Ali Khan saying that “In India there is a song for everything”. For me this song tops the list. The words echo the sentiments to endorse that all religions need to co-exist among each other – they do not isolate any religion. I am a hindi speaking hindu from South Africa and am learning this song together with the translation to narrate to my circle of friends and family. The song plays in my car and i sing it with the copy of the lyrics in front of me. Being a spiritual person it tears at the strings of my heart. The words are absolutely divine. Well done Karan, SRK and esp Niranjan Iyengar. The singers Shankar Mahadevan, Adnan Sami, Shreya Ghoshal take this song to an absolutely ethereal level. Difficult song but i will learn to sing it!!

  61. May 1, 2012 at 2:08 pm
